Guard The Core

Another take on a quick small game for the Atari 2600, hoping it to be both casual either enjoyable, yet challenging enough.

Use left & right to rotate the shield around the pulsating core. A crazy energy ball bounces around trying to hit the core depleting its energy. Each time you push it away protecting the core, core's energy goes up to a maximum of 10 points (right side of the score indicator). Watch out because the core's energy depletes every 5 seconds by 1 point so you have to keep pushing the ball to replenish it. 

Reach zero and ... game over.

An occasional spider-like robot will appear bouncing back the energy ball to give an hard time protecting the core from unpredictable ricochets.

Left part of the counter increases in cycles of 5 seconds. try to survive as long as possible!

A small game written in batari basic, given its limitation, trying to squeeze something playable out of the standard kernel and 4k rom).

This is my sort-of-homage to warlords mechanics, which i enjoy a lot!.
